Maria Loos is internationally in demand as an interpreter of Early and Contemporary music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She presents herself as an outstanding artistic personality who impresses the audience and the press with her spirited playing, her triumphant virtuosity and her feeling for remarkable sound refinement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She received the Pasticcio Prize 2010 for her CD Piazzolla\/Vivaldi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Concert engagements took the artiste to festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, Innsbruck Early Music Festival, Frankfurt's Old Opera, Early Music Days Osnabr\u00fcck, Early Music Vienna, H\u00e4ndel-Festival Halle, Soloist Concerts Villach, Castle Nymphenburg Munich, Castle Schleissheim, Castle Goldegg, Chamber Concerts Friedenau, Salzburg Residence and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since 2006 she has been invited to concerts and master courses in South America and Florida.
In 2008 she was artist in residence at the IUP Festival in Pennsylvania\/U.S.A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She composed and played parts of the film music for Stephan Laur's film \"Bewegte Stille\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a soloist she played in concerts with the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, the Salzburg Hofmusik, W\u00fcrzburg's Bach Collegium, the Leopold Mozart Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra Wernigerode, the Chamber Orchestra Saarbr\u00fccken, the Freisinger Hofmusik, the Chamber Orchestra Kaiserslautern, the Michael-Haydn-Ensemble and the Ensemble Prisma Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With her ensembles Spirit of Musicke and Musica Thalia she drew attention to herself with remarkable programme planning in concert series and festivals of Early Music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beside the intensive involvement in Early music she works closely together with composers of Contemporary Music such as Drake Mabry, Anna Rubin and Jos\u00e9 Carli and has been the first to perform works from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She has taken part in CD and radio recordings and is a lecturer for international courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From 2020\/2021 she will have a teaching position at the Mozarteum Salzburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maria Loos studied the recorder at the Mozarteum and at the College for Music in Leipzig (Robert Ehrlich). She completed her studies in master classes with Han Tol, Karel van Steenhoven, Dorothee Oberlinger, Gerd Luenenbuerger and Carin van Heerden.
